退休工程师起诉银行指遭误导以致投资失利

Can we put our trust in the Banks?

From young, we were taught that "we must put money in the bank is safer than in our home, and the money will grow and grow".

But after reading the recent news from the newspapers about the news of HN5 and minibonds and banks' arguments; I suddenly realized that "We cannot trust our banks anymore, the money we put in the bank may one day turn to zero, though it has only 0.03% risks involved as stated in the paper we signed". And the government may not give us a 100% support nor stand behind us when the banks fail us.

The only solution is to keep money at home, though it earns no interest; but it is "SAFE".

Any comment on the above issue.
