The Big Bully

British Prime Minister Tony Blair once said that “The Government is the Servant of the people.”

But there is a small country in Asia which the leaders always remind their people and threaten them with: If his government pays well, there will not be corruption inside the government, and the people will enjoy high standard of living. If they, i.e. the government, did not pay well, they will not guarantee the people of high standard of living; the men would works as laborers and the women would work as maids or prostitutes in the foreign countries. The corruption will be severe everywhere in the country.

The leaders always stress that their ministers are talented and wise. But how come the government of neighborhood countries cannot work well with our government and often attack us through their newspapers and other media; and not cooperate in the things we had agreed during discussions.

If only one neighboring country behaves in this manner; I will think that government is too sensitive in the issue we had made.

But almost all neighboring countries are against us with the issue we made; it is something wrong with our government.

The government is happy to share the wealth with the people of the small nation. But often they take the biggest share and give the people the smallest portion; i.e. they request to have their annual salary increase $600,000; yet the people could get only few hundred – a tiny droplet from an big ocean.

What are you views on the above matter?
